This guideline aims to safeguard medical students from mistreatment by any faculty member or staff associated with MCOM, including clerkship directors, attending physicians, residents, and other medical students.

This guideline explains professionalism definitions and expectations, and the process for reporting concerns.

 

Title IX Information and Reporting Procedures

Any student, faculty, or staff member with questions or concerns about the applicable University policies or who believes that they have been the victim of sex discrimination, sexual harassment, or sexual violence is encouraged to contact the Title IX Coordinator.

Student Accommodations

Exceptional Educators

The Department of Medical Education wants to hear from you! We are interested in collecting your stories about faculty members, residents, or fellows, who have impacted or influenced you in a significant way. Please tell us about what those teachers did that resulted in an exceptional educational experience and how it changed you.Once we receive your stories, we plan to forward them on to the named individual. We will not disclose your identity, unless you would like us to do so. We may also post some of the stories on the Department of Medical Education website and/or social media.

Security and Disaster Preparedness Procedures

The Department of Emergency Management (EM) is a university-wide function based out of the Tampa campus that coordinates activities to protect, prevent and mitigate against; respond to; and recover from disasters and emergencies affecting the University. Using an all-hazards approach, USF EM coordinates emergency operations to enhance a safe and secure environment at USF that is conducive to living, learning, and working.

This handbook has been developed by the Department of Medical Education to assist. It contains guidance statements and procedures, as approved by the Dean of the College of Medicine. The procedures relate to student activities as well as helpful hints and advice on facilitating experiences in medical school.

The Career Advising Program is designed to be a 4-year process.  It fully utilizes the Careers in Medicine (CiM) platform developed by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) to help prepare students in applying for residency.
