Mission & Values

Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship

Vision

To have well trained primary care sports medicine physicians demonstrate the standard in patient-centered experiences, be involved in leadership positions within the sports medicine community and gain wider recognition with scholarly activity.

Mission

To train and develop ideal primary care sports medicine physicians that will be able to provide excellence in medicine to our community of athletes and active persons that is patient-centered, compassionate, cost conscious and scientifically grounded.

Values

Our values are trust, dignity and respect which reflect our responsibility to achieve health care excellence for the communities we serve.

Aims

We strive to provide a well-rounded fellowship experience that trains sports medicine fellows in current high-demand skills as well as to be able synthesize and apply evidence-based compassionate care of the active patient within a sports medicine collaborative team. We see these ideas manifesting in four ways within our fellowship:

  • Imparting evidence-based knowledge and training in high-demand skills
  • Fostering a collegial learning environment
  • Providing a clinical environment that engenders compassionate care in different types of active patients
  • Encouraging collaborative work with different Sports Medicine Teams in the care of athletes
