Why USF?

The University of South Florida (USF) is located within the Tampa Bay region, at the heart of Florida’s Gulf coast. In our opinion it is also a truly incredible place to live. Within a short drive, are two of the world’s best beaches, St. Pete Beach and Clearwater Beach. They provide crystal clear waters and pearly white sand. Outdoor enthusiasts have further access to a variety of additional exciting opportunities including some of the best saltwater and freshwater fishing in the country

The Tampa Bay region is also one of the fastest growing and dynamic regions in the country. This has led to the development of an amazing food and surprisingly robust microbrewery scenes. It is also to home of world class cultural venues such as Salvador Dali museum, Tampa Museum of Art, and Starz center for the performing arts. Tampa Bay is also a perfect place for sports fans, home to three major professional sports teams including the Tampa Bay Lightning (NHL) , Tampa Bay Buccaneers (NFL), and the Tampa Bay Rays (MLB), as well as the home to the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies spring training facilities.

USF is a high-impact global research university that thrives off its connection to the Tampa Bay region. Our Graduate Medical Education Programs are some of the most robust in the nation with over 700 residents positioned in approximately 80 residency and fellowship training programs. Our program leverages the opportunities at USF with the resources at four premier training institutions throughout the region.
