Kristen Wells, Ph.D., M.P.H.
Kristen J. Wells, Ph.D., M.P.H., is an Assistant Professor in the Center for Evidence-based Medicine and Health Outcomes Research at the University of South Florida College of Medicine and Assistant Member at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute. Dr. Wells is a clinical health psychologist who has extensive training in cancer prevention and control. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Appalachian State University in 1995, her M.P.H. from Emory University in 2000, and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of South Florida in 2006. Dr. Wells completed post-doctoral training in Behavioral Oncology at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute in 2008. Dr. Wells’ research focuses on cancer health disparities, cancer health communication, and the development and evaluation of community health worker programs. Dr. Wells is the Principal Investigator of a grant funded by the National Cancer Institute and has 18 articles published or in press in peer-reviewed journals, such as Cancer, Health Psychology, and Journal of the National Cancer Institute. She currently holds leadership roles in several cancer health disparities initiatives funded by the National Cancer Institute and the Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities. |
