John W. Sleasman, MD
Dr. Sleasman holds the Robert A. Good Endowed Chair of Immunology, and is Chief of the Division of Pediatric Allergy, Immunology and Rheumatology at USF. He is also the medical director of the Children’s Research Institute Immunodiagnostics Laboratory at All Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Sleasman is an internationally recognized expert in immune deficiency diseases, with over 100 publications. He is active in HIV research in children and adolescents, and heads the Therapeutics Leadership Group for the Adolescent Trials Network sponsored by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. His past honors include being the recipient of the Clinical Scientist Research Award from the University of Florida and the Silver Award for Outstanding Research in Pediatric AIDS from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. In 2007, Dr. Sleasman was selected as chairman of the AIDS Immunology and Pathogenesis studies for the Center for Scientific Review at the National Institutes of Health. In 2008 he received the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Health Care Heroes award for Health Care Innovation and Research. He has been selected as one of America’s Top Doctors by Castle Connolly Medical Limited. Dr. Sleasman is a member the American Pediatric Society and past president of the Southern Society for Pediatric Research.
