Valerie Panzarino, M.D., FAAP
After completing her Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Minnesota in 1997, Dr. Panzarino moved to Charleston, South Carolina where she joined the Division of Pediatric Nephrology at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Panzarino was on the faculty at MUSC for 8 years and served as the Associate Director of the Pediatric Residency program for 5 years. Dr. Panzarino moved to the Tampa/St. Petersburg area in 2005 after accepting a position at the University of South Florida. She was appointed Pediatric Nephrology Division Director in 2007 after graduating from the inaugural class of the USF Health Leadership Institute. Dr. Panzarino has been an active participant in resident and student education; in 2007 she became the Director of the USF Pediatric Residency Program. Dr. Panzarino remains committed to pediatric nephrology with a special interest in the treatment of infants, children, and adolescents with chronic kidney disease, hypertension, glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, kidney stones, and other congenital and acquired kidney diseases.
