Tampa General HospitalTampa General Hospital: Tampa General Hospital (TGH) is affiliated with the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine and serves as the primary teaching hospital for the university, and the Department of Neurosurgery. TGH is the area’s only Level 1 Trauma Center and is one of just three burn centers in Florida. Critically ill or injured patients are transported in from 23 surrounding counties to received advanced care, including neurosurgical services. Of the over 1,000 beds at TGH, 32 of those are dedicated Neuroscience ICU beds, located next to the 18 bed Trauma ICU, accommodating a total 50 Neuro-trauma ICU beds. 

The USF Department of Neurosurgery and Brain Repair provides 24-hour coverage, 365 days a year for neurosurgical patients at Tampa General. On average, the service runs 3-4 operating rooms daily. Over 1500 cases annually are performed by the department covering all aspects of neurosurgery including complex spine, cerebrovascular, skull base, neurosurgical oncology, functional neurosurgery, pediatric, and peripheral nerve operations.

Moffitt Cancer CenterMoffitt Cancer Center: This is the only NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center in the state of Florid has been ranked the third busiest cancer center in America. Moffitt provides comprehensive multidisciplinary care for patients with primary and metastatic diseases of the CNS. Over 800 procedures are performed annually at this facility including skull base and complex spinal reconstruction for primary and metastatic disease in addition to CyberKnife treatments. The Moffitt Comprehensive Cancer Center expanded their research facilities to include 2 new multidisciplinary laboratories. One is dedicated to the research of stem cells and gliomas and the second laboratory is dedicated to research in spine biomechanics and anatomy. Both centers serve the neuro-oncology and neurology research studies in addition to their newly opened molecular biology laboratory.

James A. Haley Veterans Administration HospitalJames A. Haley Veterans Administration Hospital (JAH VA): The anchor hospital of VISN-8, JAH VA is a regional referral center for the VA system. This 400+ bed hospital is the busiest of only four polytrauma facilities in the United States, and it boasts national award-winning spinal cord and brain injury rehabilitation centers.

All Childrens' Hospital

All Childrens' Hospital (ACH): This nationally recognized facility is the only free standing children's hospital in West Central Florida. The pediatric neurosurgery group provides care for much of the pediatric population throughout the state of Florida. As a state approved pediatric trauma referral center All Children’s Hospital treats in excess of 600 traumatized children per year. All Children's Hospital opened a new state of the art facility in 2010 which houses the All Children's Neuroscience Institute which provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care to pediatric patients with neurological disorders through the collaboration among the hospital's neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, and specialists in neuro-oncology, epilepsy and neuropathology. This new facility has more than a million square feet dedicated to 21st century care, combining the latest technology in a warm, family-centered setting which includes an enhanced continuity of care and follow-up, outpatient Care Center, where they provide a full array of diagnostic services and physician visits.
