Enrich education through clinical experiences and independent learning in the areas of health disparity. Students will study historical and topical details of barriers for the medically underserved and investigate cross-cultural issues in health care while blending theoretical and practical learning. They will identify and evaluate disparities in health care, learn about challenges to medical practice with medically needy populations; act as an advocate to eliminate health disparities in part by legislative lobbying, and reflect upon relevant clinical experiences throughout the four years of medical school.
