Asset Investment Management System (AIMS)

Asset Investment Management System

AIMS Glossary

5/3/2 Minimum Funding

Each ranked clinical faculty member was allocated $6,100 [$5,000 plus 22% benefits] for departmental research/scholarly activity, service and professional development activities based on their primary department. These departments include: Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Psychiatry, Surgery, Neurology, Dermatology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Urology, Neurosurgery, Radiology, Cardiology and Pathology. In all cases the amount allocated was prorated based on actual USF FTE.

American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC) Comparison

This section reflects total wages (University, VA, and Practice Plan) for the entire designated timeframe (USF FTE +VA FTE extrapolated to 1.0 FTE) as compared to AAMC salary benchmarks for Rank and Specialty (25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles). Total wages are calculated by adding University, ASF (Academic Support Fund) and VA Salary numbers. When the faculty memben's total wages are equal to or greater than one of the AAMC benchmark percentiles, that block will be shaded green. If the wages are within 10% of the corresponding percentile, the block will be shaded yellow. If the wages are less than 90% of the corresponding percentile, the block will be shaded red.

Actual Benefits

Includes all components of any state or Practice Plan provided insurance, tuition, and retirement. These components are: Practice Plan Benefits, which are reported from the USFPG HR System (CYBORG) and State Benefits, which are reported from USF Financials (FAST).

Actual Bonus

Includes all components of any bonus which is a lump-sum cash payment to reward performance. ASF Bonus is reported from the USFPG HR System (CYBORG) and USF Bonus is reported from USF Financials (FAST).

Actual Pay Distributed for EVUs

Shows the salary and benefits excluding bonuses charged to State E&G [Fund 10000 with product codes 000000; plus SELECT Auxiliary]. PhD Adjustment tracked with MED016 and Programmatic Funding tracked with MED026 are NOT included in this number. Actual Pay Distributed for EVUs are compared to Total EVU + 5/3/2 + SELECT. If the two amounts are within 10% (plus or minus) the block will be shaded Green; if greater than 10% difference (above or below) the block will be shaded Red.

Actual Wages

This includes all components of wages the faculty member receives in bi-weekly or monthly paychecks. These components are ASF, ASF Call Pay, ASF Incentive, and ASF Stipend as reported from the USFPG HR System (CYBORG), UCS (University Contracted Salary) as reported from USF Financials (FAST), and VA Salary as reported to USF by the VA. Please note that any salary paid by the Practice Plan is grouped within one of the ASF components.

Clinical Productivity

Includes:

  • Charges posted for this provider. The current year shows fiscal year-to-date charges, and the past year shows the charges up to this point in the year last fiscal year.
  • Cash collections posted for this provider up to this point in the year last fiscal year.
  • Accrued Estimated Collections for the charges that were posted in the reporting period for the fiscal year. This number is based on previous years' trends. For more information on how it is calculated, please contact the USFPG Office of Finance and Accounting.
    • Accrued Estimated Collections are compared to Matched Collections, if greater than or equal to it will be shaded Green, if within 10% below it will be shaded Yellow and if greater than 10% below it will be shaded Red.
  • Matched Collections refers to collections matched to the charges that generated those collections.
  • Actual work relative value units (wRVUs) at previous fiscal year end.
  • Actual contract relative value units (cRVUs) is the number calculated by USFPG to determine faculty credit for work related to a contract. This number shows the current year to date cRVUs earned.
  • cRVUs for all of the designated Fiscal Year.

Clinical Scheduling Information

Contains the number of out-patient appointments per department, per status for each individual. These numbers represent appointments based on the faculty member as scheduling provider. The categories are as follows:

  1. Arrived
  2. MD Bump (Less than 30 Days Notice)
  3. MD Bump (Greater Than 30 Days Notice)
  4. PT Cancelled (Advanced Notice)
  5. PT Cancelled (Same Day)
  6. PT No Show
  7. Pending

Clinical Trials Earnings

Contains a comparison of the previous fiscal year to current fiscal year revenues received from the USF Research Foundation by the Practice Plan. These are pulled from the Practice Plan Financials (CODA). This does not include clinical trial earnings that flow through the USF Division of Sponsored Research (DSR).

Data Refresh Information

Shows the type of data and the last time that data was refreshed from the source system. Job status indicates that the last refresh was completed satisfactorily.

Effort Data

This is a breakdown of each faculty memben's reported effort (represented as a percentage of total FTE) per effort category based on Fiscal Year reporting. This is compared to the percentage of UCS dollars that are paid by Sponsored Research.

EVU Data

EVU stands for Educational Value Units. For more information about how the EVU data is calculated, please contact the Office of Educational Affairs or go to the EVU FAQs.

Total EVU Allocation

Shows the total salary and benefits earned through EVU process for UME, GE, SELECT and PhD adjustment, if applicable.

Malpractice

Includes all components of malpractice. The amounts per specialty are pulled from Practice Plan Financials (CODA). The total of this block includes both benefits and malpractice.

Payor Mix

Contains a percentage of charges billed to the various payors (insurance companies, workman's comp, self-pay, etc.) for services (based on the original FSC reporting category). All payors for the reporting period are displayed as separate line items. The percentages for the previous Fiscal Year are included as well. This data is available at the department level.

"Report Generated On" Date

Shows the date on which the data was pulled from the USF Health Data Warehouse (HART). This date does not necessarily equate to the date on which the data was most recently refreshed from the source systems.

wRVU UHC Comparison

Provider Specialty from the Practice Plan Billing System (IDX)

The University Health Consortium provides data that serves as the wRVU benchmark for our clinicians. This field contains a comparison of wRVU data from the Practice Plan billing system (IDX) and cRVU data from USFPG to the previous year's Annual UHC Benchmarks. The Annualized wRVUs + cRVUs at 1.00 FTE is derived by first adding the Annualized wRVUs and the Annualized cRVUs and then dividing that number by the Total Appointed FTE. The result is then compared to the Annual UHC Benchmarks. If the wRVUs + cRVUs at 1.00 FTE is equal to or greater than the 75th Percentile, it is shaded green. If the wRVUs + cRVUs at 1.00 FTE is within 10% of meeting the 75th Percentile, it is shaded yellow. If the wRVUs + cRVUs at 1.00 FTE is less than 90% of the 75th Percentile it is shaded red. The 25th, 50th, 75th, and 90th benchmark numbers are shaded based on their respective relationships to the wRVUs + cRVUs at 1.00 FTE, using the same logic as described above.
