My current research focuses on understanding how the biological systems that underlie healthy life and disease react to variations in their makeup (genetic variation, for example) or their environment (drugs, for example). I employ statistical inference (Bayesian inference and MCMC, for example), numerical optimization, and machine/deep learning to discover patterns in large datasets (Epigenome, Transcriptome, Proteome, and Microbiome, for example), understand mechanisms, and act upon predictive and causal relationships to, ultimately, address questions in genomics and molecular medicine
