Through a Global Lens, co-hosted with the Global Health Student Association (GHSA). This seminar will feature three fantastic speakers who will be discussing topics like disaster resilience, prenatal care in the Indigenous Ngabe-Buglé population in Panama, the role of the midwife in international rural communities, and sexual and reproductive health amid COVID-19.

A panel of USF Health experts, along with Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, will participate in a COVID-19 roundtable discussion followed by a 30-minute virtual audience Q&A session. This virtual event will be broadcast from Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. The COVID-19 Town Hall is presented by the USF College of Public Health and The Big Biology podcast. The public is invited to tune in remotely via the USF College of Public Health Facebook page. Over the course of the event, the experts, moderated by COPH disease ecology expert Lynn “Marty” Martin, PhD, and Art Woods, PhD, a biology professor from the University of Montana, will discuss advances in vaccine development and deployment, epidemiological modeling efforts and successes, and medical and immunological lessons learned about this zoonotic virus.

Public health alumni gather to share their career experiences, do’s and don’ts and lessons learned the hard way with current students. Fellow alumni are invited to attend, too. The event kicks off with a panel discussion, followed by small group Q&A with an alumnus from the panel. Sponsored by the COPH Alumni Society.
