Winfred Marrero is a Safety and Health
Consultant with the USF Safety Florida Consultation Program. Winfred is
one of our newer consultants, joining the team on January 2019, after retiring
from a 28 years plus career service, with the Occupational Safety & Health
brings to the Program an extensive level of knowledge as a senior compliance
officer with OSHA, who performed compliance related activities in the
construction, general industry, maritime and agriculture industries. He
conducted investigations on occupational related fatalities, catastrophes and
accidents, in addition to, programed related Inspections with emphasis in Lead,
Hexavalent Chrome, Silica, Isocyanates, Nursing Homes, Noise, Fall in
Construction, Amputations, Primary Metals, Combustible Dust, and Process Safety

Director (AAD), Respirator Program Administrator, and OSHA’s Voluntary
Protection Program (VPP) auditor. He also provided safety and health technical
assistance during the Florida, east coast hurricane devastation in 2005, and the

Physicist for the State of Florida, Office of Radiation Control, providing
environmental surveillance and inspection, for the shipment of radioactive
waste, generated by the Crystal River and Fort Pierce, nuclear power plants, in

began his professional career in 1983, working as an Assistant, Chemistry Lab
Manager, in the USF Chemistry Department. He later moved to work for Honeywell,
as a Chemist / Environmental Engineer, managing the water treatment department at
their PCB manufacturing facility in Tampa, FL.
obtained his Bachelor Degree in Science, with a major in Chemistry and minor in
Math, from the Catholic University of Puerto Rico.
