Noel McCatty Jr., is a Safety and Health Consultant with USF SafetyFlorida Consultation Program. Mac has over 15 years experience as a quality safety and environmental manager, with the United States Air Force and civilian contractors. During this time, his military service and contract work has taken him to Australia, Japan, Curacao, Netherlands Antilles, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. Army, Antigua, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Liberia and Afghanistan. He served stateside at MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, and with Dyncorp in Hampton, Virginia.
His OSHA certifications have authorized him to be a General Industry Trainer, Disaster Site Trainer, Construction Trainer, and Maritime Trainer. He has been a Haz-Mat On-Scene Incident Commander and helped to implement ISO 14001 and the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001. He is trained in OSHA, EPA, NEBOSH and industrial safety standards and proficient with National Fire Protection Association regulations (NFPA).
Mac has been a senior level officer in fire and emergency services, with over 20 years experience in Fire Emergency Services. He has supervised operations under the Overseas Environmental Base Guideline Document (OEBGD) and National Fire Protection Association regulations (NFPA), Hazardous Waste Operational & Emergency Response (HAZWOPER), Pollution Prevention Program Operations & Management and Hazardous Material Management regulations.
His military career and civilian contract assignments have been as a fire prevention specialist; quality safety and health manager; fire and security manager; quality control manager/site safety health officer; fire security operations senior assistant; safety subject matter expert; quality, safety and environmental manager; fire and emergency services administrator; assistant fire chief of operations, and military base fire chief.
Mac has an Associates of Applied Science in Occupational Safety and Health degree and is completing work on his Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Health.
