Florida, Ms. Hennis serves as a USF SafetyFlorida consultant to employers in
North and Central Florida. She performs site inspections, and industrial
hygiene assessments and sampling, with a focus on OSHA standards, as well as, other
recognized best practices for workplace safety and health management. Ms.
Hennis received a B.A. in Chemistry from the University of South Florida (USF),
has completed coursework in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Toxicology at the
USF College of Public Health, is certified in industrial hygiene, and is an
associate safety professional. Prior to starting her career with USF
SafetyFlorida, Ms. Hennis was an industrial hygienist (IH) for the U.S. Army,
Medical Command, for the Army Public Health Center’s, IH contract, and for the
U.S. Department of Labor. She has seven years of experience conducting industrial
hygiene surveys, inspections, air sampling and noise monitoring, providing safety
and health training, and making recommendations to improve working conditions
for public and private employees. In addition, Ms. Hennis has 20 years of
experience in the environmental field, having worked for state and local air
programs, in consulting, and for industry. Ms. Hennis’ career path provided her
with experience and a unique perspective to anticipate and recognize hazards,
to identify ways to eliminate, minimize and control hazards, and to understand challenges
small businesses face with meeting regulatory requirements.
