Florida Levels of Maternal Care Verified Hospitals

Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative (FPQC) works in partnership with The Joint Commission to voluntarily assess and verify Florida maternity hospitals that meet national standards for Levels of Maternal Care. These standards are established by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the Society of Maternal and Fetal Medicine.  The standards describe the specific components of care needed to provide high quality care for every patient, from uncomplicated pregnancies to the most complex. Verification is based on their specified level of maternal care from “Basic Care” to serving as a “Regional Perinatal Health Care Center.”  To reduce maternal mortality and maternal complications, all of Florida’s mothers should be delivered at a hospital meeting national standards based on their medical and pregnancy risk.

Through the Florida Levels of Maternal Care (LOMC) program, the following Florida maternity hospitals have been verified to meet national recommendations for providing high-quality maternity care. The verification process includes on-site visit and review.  Hospitals are verified for specific levels of maternal care in order to better care for mothers who have high risk medical conditions and complications.

Which hospital level should I go to?
