The Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences at the University of South Florida provides a highly interdisciplinary degree opportunity to students and offers a valuable combination of hard science, social science, and humanities. This high-quality program offers classroom-based & distance instruction to prepare students for many exciting careers in one of the nation’s fastest-growing industries. Courses in the program are offered from 5 different colleges and more than 20 departments at USF.
Students can choose to focus their degree based on the health career they plan to pursue after graduation. Students take core foundational courses in Health Science then choose from 5 concentrations (30 credits from one concentration or a combination of 15 credits from two different concentrations) for their advanced studies based on their career goals.
Depending on the concentrations chosen students can go on to everything from clinical graduate programs to administrative and technology positions. The flexible and interdisciplinary nature of this exciting degree prepares tomorrow’s healthcare leaders with a strong foundation for success.

Prepares students for careers in pharmaceutical sales, clinical lab management, technology specialties, health and wellness and prepares students for entry into graduate programs in public health, audiology, speech language pathology, recreational therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant and other pre-clinical professions.
Prepares students for careers in administration, social coordination, counselors, geriatric therapy, geriatric program development and also prepares students for entry into graduate programs in public health and administration.
Prepares students for careers in social service, public and behavioral health agencies such as; mental health, substance abuse and other human services, also for entry into graduate programs in social and behavioral healthcare and healthcare administration.
Prepares students for careers in hospital administration, public policy, community management, physician and small office management, local & national program administration, the insurance industry and health service management and also prepares students for entry into graduate programs in public policy, public health and administration.
Careers in medical records management, information technologies, software and internet development, project management and consulting, also prepares students for entry into graduate programs in administration, policy and information.
