Cost of Attendance
A note to students with dependents: As explained in the section on "Determining Eligibility" the FAFSA will subtract a Standard Maintenance Allowance (SMA) from you and/or your spouse's income to accommodate for maintenance costs for all members of your family (except the student since the student's maintenance costs are included in the "Cost of Attendance") before calculating the expected family contribution. The only costs not included in the SMA are costs for "Dependent Care", such as day care expenses for children, or costs for elderly or disabled dependent care so that you might attend school. If you experience a unique situation or extenuating circumstance please contact the Financial Aid office.
Estimated costs for attending the USF Morsani College of Medicine are the sum of the tuition and fees, books and supplies, room and board, commuting expenses and an allowance for personal expenses. Cost of Attendance only covers the months that a student is enrolled in classes. Enrollment can vary between 8 to 12 months. The aid received may need to be budgeted to last for a longer period until the next year of enrollment begins. Tuition and Fees
Tuition for Florida State medical schools is a flat yearly rate, regardless of the actual hours a student is enrolled. Tuition and Fees are estimated in the Cost of Attendance charts using the prior aid year’s tuition and fees. The dates of attendance may change and the cost may vary slightly for the 17-18 aid year. For more information about tuition, please visit the Registrar’s Tuition Information Page.
A word about tuition late fee waivers: The University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine will approve a waiver of the Late Payment Fee if a student is unable to make payment on time due to circumstances determined by the University to be exceptional and beyond the control of the student. Late Fee waivers will not be approved if the disbursement delay is due to late submission of financial aid requirements by the student.
