BayCare Suicide Prevention Project:
Family Navigators
The Collaborative’s Family
Navigators project, current in the initial stages of development and pilot
testing, aims to better support positive pathways into care for families, youth
& young adults experiencing a recent onset of significant behavioral health
challenges.
Predictors and consequences of involuntary
examinations among youth and young adults in Florida.
Mixed
methods projects are currently underway, including a detailed analysis of Baker
Act initiation forms housed at the USF Baker Act Reporting Center. Our goals are to better understand the
circumstances surrounding initiation of involuntary examinations of youth/young
adults and post-examination consequences in the areas of service utilization,
engagement and health outcomes.
Medical Students Supporting Families Impacted by Early
Psychosis.
Collaborative Members are currently engaged
in research aimed at developing and testing a medical student-led family
psychoeduation/support group intervention, and better understanding how medical
students can learn to support family members early in the course of psychosis.
