Hometown: Ocala, FL
Field of Interest: surgical pathology (I like almost everything!)
Why USF: Since we rotate at multiple sites, we get to learn from a wide variety of practice settings, so we see a wide variety of specimens and get a broader perspective on ways to approach cases. You can always supplement your learning with more reading, but you can't change what cases come across your bench or in sign-out! Other highlights: good balance of responsibilities/service and learning; enthusiastic teachers (attendings, PA, cytotechs); potential fellowship opportunities (but our learning is not compromised by the number of fellows either), good location: medium sized city (enough diversity in things to do and food without being a very large city).
Hobbies: Beekeeping, gardening, cooking, hiking, kayaking, miscellaneous art/crafts
