Residencies in Athletic Training: A New Model of Professional Development for Athletic Trainers
Residency Applicants: Please note the applications for the graduate program and for the residency positions are separate. If you are interested in a residency position, you must apply to the graduate program (Admissions tab), then apply separately to the residency position you are interested in. Please contact the Ms. Anna Griffiths Downer at firstname.lastname@example.org for USF SMART residency positions, or contact Mr. Steve Walz at email@example.com for USF Athletics residency positions.

USF SMART Institute Residency Opportunities
Clinical Athletic Training Residencies in Tampa Bay area high schools
There are several positions for residents to be assigned to a specific high school in the community and provide services to the school as a certified and licensed athletic trainer through the USF SMART Insitute. These positions also enable the residents to work closely with USF undergraduate athletic training students as a preceptor. These residents are responsible for providing care for all practices, home games, and away varsity football games.
Clinical USF Recreation Center Residency
The USF Recreation Center and Student Health Services position involves outreach to three different areas located on the University of South Florida Tampa campus. The majority of time is spent providing athletic training services to a variety of student athletes who participate in the University’s sport clubs. The sports which require the most attention include men’s and women’s rugby, lacrosse, soccer, ice hockey, and field hockey. Athletic training services are offered through scheduled office hours at the Campus Recreation Center, as well as weekly practice and game coverage.

USF Athletics: Clinical Athletic Training Residencies (Division I )
USF has several positions working with Division 1 level student-athletes in a variety of sports. We look for independent, self-starting individuals to join our Bulls staff. These positions help the individual athletic trainer bridge the gap between undergraduate athletic training to the level of expertise needed at the Division 1 intercollegiate level.
