Welcome! The Ingram-Spellacy Society is the official alumni society for the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at University of South Florida here in sunny Tampa, Florida. Our mission is to connect, inform, and enrich the personal and professional lives of our members: the current and former residents, fellows, and physicians of the USF OB/GYN department. Formed in 2011, the society is co-named to honor forever two of our influential department leaders, Dr. James Ingram and Dr. William N. Spellacy.
The Ingram-Spellacy Society is relatively new, making now an exciting time to become involved in its membership and leadership. The society has already had some huge successes! Thanks to financial contributions approved by the society, two members of our recent graduating residency class were able to afford to go to two separate, prestigious electives at MD Anderson and Memorial Sloan Kettering to prove their worth to the nation's GYN Oncology fellowship directors. Because of their hard work and the support of the ISS members, they both matched into excellent GYN ONC programs (see residency page for where they matched)! The Ingram-Spellacy Society also serves to bring together current and former USF physicians at national meetings. Thanks to founding member, Dr. J K Williams, the attendance at a society-sponsored reception at the 2014 ACOG Annual Clinical Meeting in Chicago was the highest in 14 years thanks to the Ingram-Spellacy Society support and organizational efforts.
The society is striving to meet its membership goals and is continuing its fundraising efforts, setting its sights on future missions including global health opportunities for current and future residents and physicians, as well as bringing in national speakers to educate all of our physician society members in the greater Tampa Bay area.
Come join us and be a part of this important organization and begin taking advantage of the society's many benefits!
