Ingram Spellacy Society at ACOG
From its inception, the Ingram / Spellacy Society (ISS) has held a close bond with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). In fact, our first official function was a reception for all our current and former residents and faculty at the Florida Section of ACOG meeting at the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes in Orlando in August 2012. It not only drew a number of new members, but many of the movers and shakers in OB/GYN in the state stopped by to see who we were.
Now that Florida Section ACOG has become its own district in ACOG (District XII), we continued to hold well-attended receptions at each of the first two annual district meetings. Not only that, we have committed to support a speaker in the name of the Society at next year's meeting (August 2015, Boca Raton).
Our first national exposure was a reception at the 2013 ACOG Annual Clinical Meeting in New Orleans. Again, it was well attended and "put us on the map." At the 2014 ACM in Chicago, we joined with many other schools and societies in a "mix and mingle" reception. Many of the ACOG dignitaries came by to spend time with our members (see photo). We recently participated in the 2018 ACM in Austin this past May and look forward to participating in next year's ACM in Nashville. We hope to see many of you there.
