Frequently Asked Questions
As a facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Hall trained only in surgery of the face and neck. After completing an accredited five year Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery residency, she then finished an accredited one-year Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship. This high degree of specialization allows Dr. Hall a unique appreciation of the best and most current techniques for facial rejuvenation.
Always inquire about your surgeon’s training. Here are some questions you should ask:
1. Did you successfully complete an accredited residency program in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery or Plastic Surgery?
The residency program should be accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
2. Did you successfully complete an accredited fellowship program?
Some surgeons will do self-styled “fellowships”. Be sure your facial plastic surgeon’s training program was accredited by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
3. Are you board certified or board eligible?
There are many “boards” that offer certification. However, the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery are the boards that are recognized among medical professionals.
4. May I see examples of your work (before and after pictures, patient testimonials)?
5. Are the procedures you’re performing within your scope of training?
Before undergoing facial plastic surgery, confirm that your surgeon was trained in facial plastic surgery techniques. Ask when and how she received her training.
What cosmetic goal are you trying to achieve? What is your budget? How much time can you alot for recovery? What longevity of results are you seeking? How good is your general health?
Dr. Hall will explore in-depth your desired cosmetic goals, carefully review your medical history, and perform a detailed physical exam. She will then discuss your options including their potential risks and benefits. As a team, you and Dr. Hall will design a treatment plan that is best for you.
