Despite heart disease being the leading cause of death, there is a dire need for biomedical research to produce more effective and cost-efficient treatments. The USF Health Heart Institute stands ready to meet the challenge, integrating the latest research with leading cardiovascular care.

The institute will be co-located within the USF Health Downtown building, close to USF's primary cardiology faculty practice site, Tampa General Hospital, and the sophisticated cardiovascular simulation equipment at the USF Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS). This new space creates an extraordinary opportunity to recruit elite cardiovascular researchers and make Tampa the destination for state-of-the-art heart care. To realize this vision, USF seeks to fund new endowed chairs to attract top faculty for the Heart Institute.
