The USF Health Office of Faculty and Academic Affairs (OFAA) along with your College/Department want to provide you with the tools to be successful in your new position. Onboarding gets you up and running, and Orientation covers important in-depth topics you will use throughout your career at USF Health. If you don’t see what you need below, please contact your Department Administrator to point you in the right direction!
You will be contacted approximately a month prior to your tentative USF Health start date by Vanessa Wright to schedule your clinical onboarding. If you have not been contacted by Vanessa, please check with your department administrator.
During your clinical onboarding, you will meet with several departments, which may take 5-6 hours. This is necessary in order for you to see patients and be successfully placed in the billing system.
USF Health New Faculty Orientation is held twice a year - Spring and Fall – and covers topics specific to USF Health faculty, including, but not limited to, General Counsel topics, USFPG topics, ROAD and conflict of interest, library services, Effort Reporting, promotion and tenure, and the USF-required 2-hour Title IX/VAWA certification.
All ranked faculty are expected to attend this full orientation day, followed by a reception with USF Health Leadership. You should attend Orientation as soon after your hire date as you can in Spring or Fall.

Please also be aware, the USF Tampa campus holds new faculty events during the first week of August as well. You are encouraged to register on-line for the Tampa campus events of interest to you: http://usfweb3.usf.edu/nfo Please note that you will not be able to do the Historical Tour of Tampa because you will be at the USF Health Orientation on that date.
