With the evolving field of clinical research at TGH, greater demands are being placed on the clinical researchers as they encounter a mass of new guidelines and regulations geared towards quality assurance and human subject protection issues. It is a challenge for a clinician to initiate and complete a study without any support from the institution. To initiate a scientifically sound proposal while fulfilling all regulatory requirements a time commitment and research support is required. Medical writing services core is established to provide assistance to our investigators (at USF and TGH) in facilitating the development and submission of protocols and consent forms for clinical trails with particular emphasis on investigator initiated studies. The medical writer’s services are also offered to help facilitate the investigators in grant writing, submission to federal or private agencies for funding, identifying funding sources, improving the quality of their clinical research protocol, manuscripts, abstracts and oral presentations. To assist you better in the field of clinical research, our medical writer Dr. Sadaf Aslam, MD is available at the TGH, Office of Clinical Research. These services are offered free of charge to all the USF and TGH researchers. For any assistance in the development of a study protocol, consent form, and regulatory submission of the study, please contact Dr. Aslam at saslam@health.usf.edu
