Every year, USF and USF Health submit requests for Federal appropriations. These appropriations are largely made available for key initiatives in the institutions which are aimed at enhancing USF Health’s capacity and regional and national prominence in the areas of research, education, and public service. The primary purpose of these appropriations is to seek Federal support in “building” capacity in a strategic area of interest with the ultimate goal of creating financial self-sufficiency from competitive extramural funding. These appropriations should be viewed as “seed” funding allowing the institution to develop these strategic areas further.

Please note that each College is asked to review their proposals and submit in PRIORITY ORDER to Dr. Phil Marty's office, MDC 002, (pmarty@health.usf.edu) no later than January 8, 2007.
