Capital Improvement Plans (CIP)

Dear Colleagues:

Requests for capital projects are solicited and prioritized by USF Health on an annual basis.  As such in 2002, we are now embarking on a new request for proposal for the following:

  • New Projects
  • Major renovation of existing buildings

Enclosed please find the project submission form entitled “Capital Improvement Plan Priorities 2008-09”.

Also enclosed is the projected time line of events that relate to this request.  Please note the following:

  • In the CON and COPH, the respective college deans will review  college-specific proposals and submit their priorities to the USF Health Space Committee

  • In the COM, the Vice Dean’s Council will review college specific proposals and submit their priorities to the USF Health Space Committee

  • Projects will be evaluated based upon their alignment with the USF Health, University, BOG and Federal priorities

  • The likelihood of funding by the State will be an important consideration

  • The availability of private funds to support capital improvement will also be considered

  • Projects currently listed on the 2007-08 Capital Improvement Plan (copy enclosed) do not need to be resubmitted.  They will be automatically considered for review and evaluation by the USF Health Space Committee.  However, renaming existing projects with a more appropriate “descriptor” will be considered.
  • At this stage, estimated cost or budget is neither expected nor requested.

All requests must be submitted electronically to Ms. Christine Tam (ctam@health.usf.edu) no later that 5:00 pm on Friday, January 26, 2007.

Please feel free to call my office if you need any additional information and/or clarification.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Abdul S. Rao, M.D., M.A., D.Phil.
Senior Associate Vice President, USF Health
