Global Health Synergy AwardsUSF Health has recently announced the recipients of the Global Health Synergy Social's research award.

The proposed project on "Development of Novel Antiviral Compounds against Influenza" was selected for the $20,000 grant to be awarded to Dr. Alberto van Olphen and Drs. Roman Manetsch and Edwin Rivera-Otero. More...

Research Day 2006

Research Day 2006USF Health hosted the 16th Annual USF Health Research Day on Thursday, February 23. The annual event provides a forum for USF Health faulty, post-docs, students, residents and staff to show off their work and is a way for USF to encourage innovative thought and continued research within the university community.

The Research Day was held in the USF Health Entranceway in the lobby and atrium of the new College of Nursing Building. Posters were displayed which included abstracts of presenters pioneering research ideas and work.

Some topics introduced in the poster presentations included aging studies, immunology, neuroscience, oncology, pediatrics and physical therapy. More...

Summer Research Program

Summer Research ProgramThis summer forty one College of Medicine (COM) students from the class of 2009 are participating in research projects supported by the Dean of the College of Medicine and an American Heart Association Fellowship Grant obtained by the Dean's Office.

For a period of six to eight weeks, students will work with COM faculty in a variety of specialty areas including Dermatology, Family Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Internal Medicine, Molecular Medicine, Neurosciences, Ophthalmology, Pathology and Cell Biology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine, Physical Therapy, Radiology, Surgery, and Environmental and Occupational Health. Fellowships for 38 students were funded through the Office of the Dean of the College of Medicine. More...
