THE CTSI SEMINAR SERIES

CTSI faculty will present the following seminars at any location on the USF North or South Campus.  Most offerings are available as seminars or interactive workshops.

Evidence-Based Medicine Seminars and Workshops

This series is designed to develop the knowledge and skills required to practice and teach evidence-based care.  The sessions feature group discussions, interactive lectures and case-based studies.  Each session lasts approximately 1 hour, depending on the skill level of participants.

Scientific Communication Seminars and Workshops

This series covers topics related to writing for publication, manuscript preparation, common problems with word usage, and the preparation of effective slide presentations and posters.   Click here to view a list of available seminars.  Seminars 4 through 6 can be presented in a workshop format, during which participants practice using their skills.  Participants are encouraged to bring their own writing projects to the workshops.  Each session lasts 1-2 hours, depending on the format.

Dr. Rahul Mhaskar received the Thomas C Chalmers Award established by the Cochrane Collaboration to recognize advances in methodology of Evidence-based Medicine (EBM) based on origninality of thought, high quality science, relevance to the advancement of science of systematic reviews, and clarity of presentation. This award can also be viewed at USF Health Honors and Awards.
