Rahul Mhaskar, MPH, Ph.D

Dr. Rahul Mhaskar trained as a physician in Pune, India. He earned his MPH degree from the University of Arizona in 2005 and his Ph.D. degree from University of South Florida in 2010. His research during his MPH degree, focused on exploring and documenting barriers to breast cancer screening among elderly Navajo women residing in the Navajo nation. During his Doctoral research he enumerated risk factors for H. pylori infection that consequently contributed to development of peptic ulcer and / or gastric cancer in Ecuador, Panama and India. From 2007-2009 Rahul was research associate at the Cancer Prevention and Control department in the Moffitt Cancer Center. Currently he is an Assistant Professor at the center and division of Evidence-based Medicine and Health Outcomes Research at the University of South Florida. Rahul’s main areas of interests are comparative effective research, systematic review, meta analysis, research ethics and decision analysis.
