The Informatics core is dedicated to the development of methods and technology applications to support clinical decision-making. Our goal is to facilitate clinical research, evaluate clinical practice, enhance medical decisions and ultimately improve patient care.
Services
The Informatics core provides an extensive assortment of research, teaching and administrative services to the entire USF community. Examples of services provided include:

The faculty and staff of the Informatics core are actively involved in research related to medical decision support systems; novel approaches for data mining; mobile application development; social network analysis; systems engineering approaches to medical applications.

Staff
The Informatics core is directed by Dr. Tsalatsanis, Ph.D. He is an industrial engineer maintaining extensive expertise in information systems, intelligent systems and decision support systems.
Other members of the Informatics core include:
· Mr. Jasmin Lacevic. Mr. Lacevic is an application developer with expertise in web design.
· Mr. Eleazar Gil-Hererra. Mr. Gil-Herrera is a Ph.D. candidate with the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at USF. His research interests are in the areas of data mining, survival analysis and decision support systems.
· Mr. Diego Martinez. Mr. Martinez is a Masters student with the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at USF. His research interests are in the areas of operational research, system engineering and process design.
