Katherine Cairns is a Health Care Consultant and President of Summit Health Group. This health care practice specializes in the following:
  • Strategic planning for public organizations and agencies serving low income clients and clients with special health care needs.
  • Partnership and product development related to Medicaid and Medicaid reimbursement sources and other public funding.
  • Managed care contract negotiation for unique products and services

  • Assistance with data analysis and evaluation of products or services

Ms. Cairns was the Director of the Medica State Public Programs at the Allina Health System.With over 64,000 Medicaid members enrolled in the Medica Choice Care product, it served the largest number of Medicaid clients in the State of Minnesota.While at Medica, she pioneered many client-focused outreach efforts which have won national praise. Cairns also served as Commissioner of Public Health for the City of St. Paul, Minnesota, an urban city with over 270,000 residents. She managed primary health care clinics, community health planning, housing code enforcement, vital records and community health improvement. She continue to serve on the Board of community-based organizations. In partnership with each client, public organization or non-profit agency, Ms. Cairns emphasizes the challenges, opportunities and rewards of change in the any enterprise lies not in developing new ideas, but in escaping old ones."
