Dev S. Pathak was appointed as Affiliate Professor at USF in 2008.  Prior to his current appointment, he worked as the founding dean of the Robert Stempel School of Public Health at Florida International University from 2003 through 2006.He is also appointed as Professor Emeritus at the Ohio State University after his retirement in 2003.  He is currently a member of the Efficiency Technical Advisory Panel (TAP) for the National quality Forum’s project, “National Voluntary Standards for therapeutic Drug Management Quality”. 


Pathak has published more than 200 articles in nationally and internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals, has made more than 275 poster and podium presentations at various national and international meetings and has authored/co-authored and edited/co-edited 19 books, monographs and/or special journal issues.  His research interests include topics such as economic evaluation of pharmaceutical and health care programs with special emphasis on the health status valuation using utility analysis and health related quality of life measurements, strategic planning and health care organizations, drug distribution and public policy, and research methodology in pharmacy practice and health services research.

Pathak has received The Ohio State University Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching, 2001; Research Achievement Award from Economics, Marketing and Management Section of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, 2000; Research Achievement Award in Economic, Social, Administrative Sciences from American Pharmaceutical Association in 1994; and the Chaterjee Memorial Award from the Indian Pharmaceutical Association for outstanding contribution to the discipline of pharmaceutical administration in 1989. He is also inducted as Fellow, American Pharmaceutical Association, 1998, and Fellow, American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, 1997
