Employees are as concerned about working in a "safe" employment atmosphere as simply "having a job." This concern has prompted demands for higher performance standards and increased safety awareness in the private, public, and governmental sectors. Thus, there exists a need for professionals who are able to develop and implement safe work practices in the workplace. The Certificate in Safety Management is designed to meet this need and help with career advancement. It also prepares students for the American Board of Certified Safety Professionals examination. College of Public Health students enrolled in a major other than Safety Management may concurrently enroll in this Certificate.
