The Certificate program is designed to serve persons who want to enhance their knowledge and potential to pursue management and leadership positions in health services. It furthers an understanding of health system organization and financing, health policy, managed care and insurance, and management decision-making.

Required Courses:

            Twelve (12) credit hours are required for completion of the Certificate program.

Prerequisites
The applicant must have an earned Bachelor's degree from an accredited academic institution and at least one of the following: at least two years of appropriate work experience, concurrent enrollment in a graduate degree program, or a graduate degree.

Application Process for Enrollment
Call the Graduate Certificate Office at (813) 974-2442 or visit their website at http://www.outreach.usf.edu/gradcerts/ to obtain the appropriate applications. Students should submit a resume and copy of diploma with the application, and an undergraduate transcript with the application.  

Application of Certificate Courses Towards a Graduate Degree
Certificate program students can apply to the department's MPH, MHA, or MSPH degree programs. If admitted to a graduate program in the Department of Health Policy and Management, the 12 credit hours can be transferred to the degree program within five years of completion of the certificate.  

Standardized Test Requirements
There are no specific test requirements.

Follow the accepted procedure for graduate level courses.  

Time Limit for Completion of Certificate
Time limits on certificate completion comply with university standards.  

Fees per Course / Credit Hour
Fees parallel that of standard graduate level classes.  Please visit the USF website at http://www.usf.edu/controller/cashaccounting/tuition to view current fees.

Course Location
This Certificate is offered at the Tampa campus and the USF Downtown Center . Some courses are offered as web-based courses in some semesters.
