General Site Worker 8-Hour Refresher Course Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response (Hazwoper)
This refresher training course will help employees assess the hazards associated with uncontrolled hazardous waste sites to determine whether work can be conducted in a safe manner.
Attendees will be evaluated through a comprehensive written examination at the end of the course. A certificate of completion will be issued to each attendee who has scored a minimum of 70% on the examination.

Develop a level of competency that would allow employees to recognize unsafe conditions at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites.
Develop the necessary tools to evaluate site conditions.
Develop decision matrix for establishment of safe work atmospheres through engineering controls, administrative controls, and/or personnel protective equipment (PPE).
Discuss emergency responses to hazmat incidents to determine whether or not response can be taken in a safe manner.

The Sunshine ERC and USF Health reserve the right to cancel this program due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event of such cancellation, the full registration will be refunded. USF Health will not be responsible for travel expenses incurred by the participant due to the program cancellation. Cancellations must be received in writing and will be subject to a $25 administrative fee for this course. Absolutely no refunds will be made within 7 days of the course date. Registrations are not transferrable to other individuals or other activities.
