Welcome to the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics

Welcome to the website of the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the College of Public Health at USF. We invite you to explore our website and learn more about the disciplines of epidemiology and biostatistics and the courses and programs we offer. Our faculty are strongly committed to teaching and student mentoring and are successfully engaged in nationally recognized research programs. You can learn more about our faculty by visiting their web pages through the Faculty and Staff link to the left. The Department offers MPH, MSPH and PhD programs in epidemiology and in biostatistics. We also have very popular MPH programs with dual concentrations. We currently offer MPH dual concentrations in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Global Health Practice, Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases and Epidemiology and Maternal and Child Health. Certificate programs in Epidemiology and also in Biostatistics are available and an on line certificate in Infectious Disease Epidemiology will soon be available. There are competitive scholarships and awards programs available through the College - please check their website for more details. Doctoral students and advanced masters’ students may also apply to be Graduate Teaching Assistants. Please take a few minutes to explore our website and discover the many rewards of a career in Epidemiology or Biostatistics. Milora Morely gives award winning Autism presentation
Milora Morely is the recipient of the Excellence in Undergraduate Research Award.  She was honored at a luncheon on April 29 and received a cash prize for her work. The winning project titled, “Missing Incidents in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder: Antecedents, Descriptions, and Consequences” was presented at the 2013 Undergraduate Research and Arts Colloquium.   Professor Hamisu Salihu, MD. Dr. Hamisu Salihu awarded 11-year NIH grant
Professor Hamisu Salihu, MD. PhD, is the recipient of an 11-year, NIH grant. As the principal investigator, Salihu and the co-investigators will partner with members of the Tampa community to identify and prioritize issues impacting disparities in the maternal and child health (MCH) population using a CBPR approach.
