Hamisu Salihu, MD, PhD, is a tenured Professor at the University of South Florida in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the College of Public Health, as well in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the College of Medicine. Dr. Salihu serves as the Director of the Occupational Medicine Residency Program at University of South Florida. Dr. Salihu serves as the Director of the Center for Research and Evaluation of the LRCC. Dr. Salihu is a Board-certified preventive medicine specialist and a world-renowned perinatal epidemiologist with hundreds of peer-reviewed journal articles to his credit. In 2008, Dr. Salihu was described by the New York Times as one of the world's leading researchers in the field of stillbirth (New York Times, April 1st, 2008). He currently serves as the evaluator of the multi-million dollar Federal Healthy Start project in Hillsborough County and is co-investigator on the National Children's Study.
