A message from Dr. Donna J Petersen, Dean, College of Public Health Dean:

The dawning of the 21st century was filled with promise.  Spirits were high for a new era characterized by hope – hope for a better world and the full actualization of our human potential.  Subsequent events proved that challenges are never far off, whether they are inspired by the wrath of man or of nature.  Thankfully, we have experienced a resurgence of interest in facing these challenges directly and in actively working to prevent the precipitating factors that lead to disaster and to the loss of hope.  At the USF College of Public Health we are preparing the future leaders of the global health revolution today.  Our students come with a new level of enthusiasm and our faculty is responding by reaching out to all corners of the globe to create a learning experience like no other.  Come discover, grow and make the world a better place with us.

A message from Dr. Ann DeBaldo, Associate Dean, International Programs, College of Public Health:

USF’s International Programs Office in the College of Public Health is expanding the global reach of educational, research, development and entrepreneurial initiatives. We are engaging partners to help us develop opportunities for students and faculty to apply knowledge to real-world, mutual public health challenges - emerging infectious diseases, environmental degradation, natural and man-made disasters, changing patterns of chronic disease, and health disparities. Our students and faculty have been actively working in over 70 countries to tackle these challenges.

Public Health is a global discipline. We are dedicated to improving public health around the world and we welcome any ideas you may have about strengthening the international dimension of the College of Public Health. Health is, after all, something everyone wants and can agree upon, the point of commonality, a peacemaker in the world today.
