Program Objectives:
Demonstrate the importance of establishing pre-disaster collaborative partnerships which will make counties resilient and disaster-ready.
Teach methods to identify critical partners in the government, not-for-profit, faith-based, and business sectors.
Provide instruction on designing a CDPC to fit an individual county’s needs and build synergistic relationships among health, human services, and emergency management systems.
Share Sarasota County’s approach in structuring an effective CDPC.
Provide strategies for engaging, motivating, and sustaining community partners in the CDPC.
Demonstrate techniques to utilize the incident command system (ICS) in conjunction with a CDPC.
Describe approaches to identify funding and other resources to support the CDPC and community disaster response and recovery efforts.
