Steering Committee
One representative of each charter member organization will comprise the FPQC Steering Committee. The Steering Committee will establish operating rules for decision-making processes and strategic planning as well as the selection, oversight and monitoring of maternal and infant health care quality improvement (QI) initiatives. The primary responsibility of the Steering Committee will be to identify and address statewide priority perinatal QI issues.
Leadership Team
An Executive Subcommittee representing leadership as well as the maternal and infant health care perspectives and appointed by the Steering Committee along with FPQC Staff Leadership shall form the FPQC Leadership Team. This Leadership Team will be responsible to plan, implement, facilitate, support and evaluate the FPQC’s strategic and operational plans.
Subcommittees
Maternal Health Advisory Subcommittee:
This Subcommittee will be established by the Steering Committee to propose and research potential QI initiatives aimed at advancing the health care outcomes of Florida’s mothers. Once the Steering Committee has selected specific maternal health care QI initiatives, this Subcommittee will develop, champion and monitor the implementation and evaluation of the initiatives.
Infant Health Advisory Subcommittee:
This Subcommittee will be established by the Steering Committee to propose and research potential QI initiatives aimed at advancing the health care outcomes of Florida’s infants. Once the Steering Committee has selected specific infant health care QI initiatives, this Subcommittee will develop, champion and monitor the implementation and evaluation of the initiatives.
Data Advisory Subcommittee:
This Subcommittee will be appointed by the Steering Committee to develop and implement a plan for obtaining, analyzing and interpreting perinatal health care and outcomes to facilitate the Steering Committee’s and Subcommittees’ decision-making regarding the selection of QI initiatives that are appropriate, feasible, engaging, measurable and supportable. In addition, the Subcommittee will be responsible for the design and execution of evaluations of FPQC initiatives.
How to Join a Subcommittee
We encourage the collaboration and information sharing amongst our different stakeholders from physicians to nurses and advocates to payers. We would like to advance this inter-professional approach within our Subcommittees. If you are interested in becoming a member of one of the Subcommittees listed above, please email
fpqc@health.usf.edu
with your full name, profession, affiliation and the Subcommittee you would like to join.
Confidentiality
The privacy and dignity of FPQC participants will be protected, where appropriate, through strict adherence to rigorous confidentiality policies and procedures regarding data and information sharing. A manual detailing these procedures will be forthcoming.
Amendments
The FPQC Charter may be amended by the Steering Committee with a majority vote of two-thirds of the committee’s members.
