Dr. Baldwin received her Ph.D. in Behavioral Sciences and Health Education from Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health. After directing the Native American Prevention Project Against AIDS and Substance Abuse, in 1994 she accepted a position at Northern Arizona University. While there, she was instrumental in developing the MPH program and has received the President's Award for Faculty and the Teaching Scholar Award. Dr. Baldwin's research has focused on developing, implementing, and evaluating HIV/AIDS, alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse prevention programs for adolescents and young adults. She has more recently led community-based, chronic disease prevention efforts. At USF, Dr. Baldwin will continue her work with Native American and other indigenous populations and teach courses in community health, health disparities and cultural competence, and health education.
