Our community mourns the loss of Linda Osmundson, a domestic violence survivor and advocate and CASA (Community Action Stops Abuse) leader who passed Monday, January 4, 2016.
"To many in Tampa Bay, Mrs. Osmundson was a role model, an advocate, a rebel who shook up the status quo. Mrs. Osmundson left behind an organization that flourished during her 26 years as executive director. Under her leadership, the organization established counseling services, day care and housing for domestic violence victims and raised millions of dollars in grants and donations. She established the Peacemakers Program to teach violence prevention to children and teenagers and co-founded a program that sought pardons for women serving prison time for defending themselves."
