Bio
Dr. Gum is Associate Professor in the Department of Mental Health Law & Policy. Her research focuses on mental health service utilization and delivery for older adults with depression. She conducts collaborative, community-based research to integrate mental health services into non-specialty settings and to improve collaboration among professionals working across service sectors. She currently has a grant from the Retirement Research Foundation to implement a holistic senior wellness program in faith-based settings in collaboration with five local predominantly African-American churches. She also has a grant from the Institute for Optimal Aging to study decision-making related to moving to continuing care retirement communities. Dr. Gum also has received external funding from NIMH and SAMHSA.
