1st Week on entering the Program
- Attend Mandatory College Orientation
- Attend Mandatory IFE Orientation
- Think about your personal timeline and course schedule. Plan when you will do your IFE
- Schedule initial discussion with your Faculty Advisor and IFE Counselor.
1 year before Field Experience
- Make appointments with faculty who work in your area of interest to learn about IFE opportunities available and sources of funding
- Meet regularly with Faculty Advisor and IFE Counselor to review progress
- Obtain passport if needed.
6-8 Months before Field Experience
- Submit resume to IFE Counselor
- Begin the IFE application process
- If you will be working on a research project, begin working on IRB materials
- Complete the Supervised International Field Experience Application and Agreement form. Submit with original signatures to the IFE Counselor
- Schedule needed immunizations.
1-5 Months before Field Experience
- Download the entire Plan and Reports, and Evaluations sections of the Field Experience Guidelines. You will need these forms during your IFE
- Prepare your IFE Plan with your Faculty Advisor, IFE Site Supervisor, IFE Counselor
- Plan with Faculty Advisor and IFE Counselor a realistic timeline and method for submitting required reports #s 1, 2
- Arrange for your medical and evacuation insurance, Student Travel ID and immunizations
- Complete and submit IFE application packet forms with original signatures to IFE Counselor. Make copies of all forms for yourself
- Register for the IFE and Special Project, if applicable
