What If I Don't Have the Money?
When most students are considering an international field placement they do not have the money to pay for their full costs. The amount varies considerably with each international field placement.
Your main expense in most cases will be airfare. Once you are there you can keep your daily living expenses to a minimum. Room and/or board may be provided by the host agency or offered at minimal cost. Occasionally stipends are provided. A low-cost international field experience combined with a small scholarship from the UniversBEXMEMity or other organizations can considerably defray your expenses. Remember, if all your fundraising avenues don't pan out and you have to use your own funds or get a personal loan--consider it an investment in your career.
The list below features campus and outside funding sources and will give you an idea of what’s available.
