On the afternoon of April 3, more than 70 students and alumni trekked across the courtyard to the College of Behavioral & Community Sciences Atrium. Fair attendees met with a variety of public, private, on-campus, and local health organizations in search of research ideas for a special project, possibilities for field experience, employment and volunteer opportunities and general information on the plethora of career options in public health.
More than twenty employers registered for the fair, including The Hillsborough County Health Department, H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, American Lung Association, USF Environmental Health and Safety, and The Arthritis Research Institute of America, Inc. to name a few.
One student noted, “It surpassed my expectations!” This sentiment was shared by the majority of students surveyed after the event.
The college partnered with the Public Health Student Association and International Health Service Collaborative to provide refreshments for attendees. The USF Career Center disseminated information on their services for students and alumni.
The 2013 fair is scheduled for April 2. To learn more about the event, offer suggestions or get involved, contact Mr. Brian Creel at firstname.lastname@example.org or (813) 974-8874.
