Orientation for New Members of the USF Health CommunityAll new Faculty, Residents, and Staff of the clinical departments of the College of Medicine and its Faculty Practice Plan (USFPG, UMSA and MSSC) are required to attend Professional Integrity Orientation provided by the Professional Integrity Office (PIO).
Faculty & Other Healthcare ProvidersFor new Faculty Physicians or other healthcare providers (i.e. ARNP, PA), the PIO provides an individualized training session tailored to that provider with in-depth review of the documentation, coding and billing policies. College policy requires all new providers attend orientation prior to submission of any billing. The respective clinical department of each new faculty is responsible for coordinating the scheduling of this training with the PIO. Contact us at (813) 974-8090 to schedule.
Residents & FellowsOrientation is provided to New Residents and Fellows each June during the Resident Orientation coordinated by the Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME). The GME office expects each Residency program to include a minimum of 1 hour of training in compliance annually.
New staff orientation is offered every other Tuesday, in coordination with UMSA/MSSC HR orientation. This training is held in
The Online Training is accessible 24 hours/day, 7 days per week. However, you should expect your Supervisor to allow you to complete the training during your work hours and to provide access to a computer in order to do so. In order to access the Online Training, you must have a USF (ID) Card and a USF Health computer account. If you do not already have these, contact your Supervisor to arrange immediately. You can also visit the USF Health Information Services website for instructions on how to obtain a computer account at http://hsc.usf.edu/is/newaccountinformation .
The online training is required to be completed for all new employees within 10 business days of hire. Remember to print all of your certificates and submit them to your supervisor for filing in your personnel file. Failure to complete the Online Training is cause for disciplinary action.
