Cytokines in the Sand : The Links Between Stress, Inflammation, and Disease, and will be held at the Sheraton Sand Key Hotel in Clearwater Beach November 4-6. Dr. Bruce McEwen, is the distinguished keynote speaker, and will discuss his theory of allostatic load and it’s implication in the balance between good health and disease. The conference will feature presentations focusing upon the characteristics of inflammation, the role of infections and pro-inflammatory cytokines in modulating the brain and behavior. Other topics will include epigenetics, stress, as well as alternative and complementary medicine. In addition, there will be an opportunity to learn how to assay the biomarkers of inflammation accompanied by a discussion of how these molecules can impact mental and physical health.
